Lake Group celebrated International Women’s Day (IWD) with orphans at Al-Maldina Orphanage Centre in Tandale, Kwatumbo in Dar es Salaam. A group of Women employees from Lake Group visited the centre with various donations this to include a Gas Cooker and LPG Cylinder, clothes, food, mosquito nets, soaps, rice, medicines and soft drinks. Workers from Lake Group thought that it was wise to visit the Centre owned by a woman when the world was celebrating “International Women Day”. The group wanted to assure children at the centre that despite some challenges they face, have mothers and sisters who love and care for them. The visit at the centre opened by players which was recited by a worker from Lake Group, then the Cake was cut symbolizing the beginning of the relationship between the two. Madina Orphanage Centre is owned by Kuluthum Yusufu, it has 67 children classing from Primary to Secondary schools. As it is overcrowded with children in Tandale 40 children stay in Bunju. Our vision is to extend our hand to reach not only Maldina Orphanage Centre but also other centres in Tanzania. We understand that we cannot end poverty but we can reduce it to a certain level.
